About The Position

The Company: Bradington-Young, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team in Bedford, VA. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets. The Position: We are looking for an experienced Facilities and Maintenance Manager to maintain all plant upkeep and maintenance in our plant in Hickory, NC needs inside and outside the plant. This position will report administratively to the plant manager. Main duties include, but are not limited to: Basic electrical work- run conduit, pull wire, replace breakers, install outlets, and be able to perform basic troubleshooting. Basic plumbing work- install plumbing fixtures, repair leaks, install valves, unstop drains, cut and thread pipe. Assist in relocation and installation of new equipment. Perform upkeep of both inside and outside of the plant. Respond to service requests in a timely manner. Keep track of maintenance supplies and distribute as needed. Maintain Plant Boilers and steam system. Maintain/repair different HVAC systems. Work with/overseeing subcontractors in applicable projects. Assist in managing plant shutdowns to perform maintenance projects. Maintain spare parts inventory. Build and maintain vendor relationships. Schedule/perform preventative maintenance around production schedules. Plan/budget projects with Maintenance Manager for each year.

Requirements

  • Have at least 5 years of maintenance experience (manufacturing plant preferred).
  • Have experience and knowledge of custodial, grounds, and maintenance services (boilers, generators, HVAC/R preferred).
  • Have high level understanding of the technical features of controls, electrical systems, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Demonstrate experience effectively leading individuals, teams, or work groups.
  • Be adaptable and Reliable.
  • Be open to continued training/learning.
