About The Position

The Maintenance Manager actively supervises employees in the everyday coordination, execution, and planning of maintenance efforts, including 24/7 maintenance coverage. This role reports to the Site Manager and provides technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities. The manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining a cost-effective preventive maintenance program, implementing quality improvement and cost reduction ideas, and managing machine reliability initiatives. This position also involves managing inventories of spare parts, purchasing materials, troubleshooting problems, making data-driven decisions, identifying and addressing safety concerns, and planning/scheduling maintenance work orders. Maintaining good working relationships with plant management, supervisory staff, and hourly employees, along with good housekeeping practices and positive communication, are essential. The role also includes participation in safety and environmental audits.

Requirements

Demonstrated personnel supervisory skills.
Five + year’s maintenance and leadership experience in a manufacturing plant.
Five years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity preferred.

Responsibilities

Actively supervises employees in the everyday coordination, execution and planning of maintenance efforts, including a 24/7 maintenance coverage
Report to Site Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known, while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities.
Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program
Implement quality improvement and cost reduction ideas.
Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results.
Manage machine reliability initiatives
Maintains adequate inventories of spare parts
Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required.
Troubleshoot and solve problems.
Make data driven decisions
Identify areas where safety issues could arise and take measures to proactively address the concerns.
Plans, schedules and monitors the timely completion of maintenance work orders.
Maintain a good working relationship with the plant management, supervisory staff and hourly employees.
Maintain good housekeeping practices.
Continually communicate in a positive manner.
Participate in weekly, monthly, semiannual and annual safety and environmental audits.
