About The Position

First Quality is seeking a Maintenance Manager for their First Quality Tissue facility located in Lock Haven, PA. This position will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the Paper Machines. The role ensures all team members' goals are aligned with department objectives and provides necessary resources to meet those goals. It also focuses on consistency in work processes, training, employee development, and HR practices. A strong relationship with the Production team is crucial for coordinating activities to ensure reliable processes from incoming pulp to the final product. As a member of the mill leadership team, this role involves developing and implementing practices and initiatives to keep the mill competitive. This position is responsible for leading the maintenance processes in a manner that will have a direct impact on profitability, efficiency, cost management, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, additional years of experience may be considered.
• 10 years’ experience in the maintenance field, experience in Paper Machine preferred.
• Three to five years’ experience in a Maintenance Supervisory position.
• Deep understanding of the planning and scheduling of maintenance work functions as they apply to predictive, preventive, precision, proactive, and planned maintenance.
• Strong human relations and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills in aiding the reliability of the operation.

Responsibilities

• Leads and develops a safe work culture through adhering to and maintaining all company safety rules, policies, and standards.
• Ensures coaching, discipline, recognition, and handling of situations are consistent with HR policy.
• Develops salaried and hourly maintenance personnel to ensure bench strength.
• Conducts performance appraisals, performance improvement, and coaching of both salaried and hourly personnel.
• Utilizes and promotes the usage of the CMMS system to provide direction and assistance to maintenance personnel within the Paper Maintenance team.
• Promotes growth of the maintenance team by providing leadership in the development and implementation of Root Cause Analysis, Precision maintenance techniques, Preventive maintenance programs, and Reliability improvements.
• Analyzes operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics including unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, Mean-Time-Between Failures, and maintenance related costs.
• Champions the availability and reliability of assets using effective predictive maintenance, effective maintenance planning and scheduling, and effective repair techniques.
• Champions vendor services to maximize quality, performance, and reliability of equipment repairs.
• Utilizes vendors and OEMs for improving the skills of maintenance personnel and for improving inspection routines.
• Manages Controls and Mechanical Engineers to improve equipment availability.
• Supports all mill Reliability efforts.
• Develops and creates a vision for the maintenance team and implements it.
• Interfaces with Production, Engineering, Human Resources, Purchasing, Stores, and Utilities departments.
• Develops and maintains staffing plans to meet business requirements.
• Develops and delivers maintenance budgets.
