About The Position

The Maintenance job family is responsible for planning, scheduling, and organizing the efficient maintenance, operation and performance of work assignments. This role coordinates with various departments to achieve optimum utilization of operations and maintenance resources to effectively achieve production improvements through usage of industry standard methodologies. The position is performed under the day-to-day direction, control and supervision of WTCC. Amentum is a global company with a heritage dating back more than 100 years, delivering solutions in nuclear energy, infrastructure, operations and maintenance, and national security. Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC), working at the Hanford Vit Plant, also known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. This facility is designed to turn radioactive and chemical waste from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal, aiming to protect the Columbia River and its surrounding communities, salmon, and wildlife. The community offers year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun, over 200 wineries, and access to amenities of large cities like Seattle and Portland.

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior year toward a BS Degree in Engineering
  • No experience needed
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Amentum visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

Responsibilities

  • Perform an analysis of equipment failures to determine the best approach for development of a library of off-the-shelf maintenance work procedures to help reduce equipment downtime.
  • Assist with surveillances and data gathering for ongoing organizational performance monitoring
  • Work on documenting existing processes within the organization and propose improvements for increased efficiency.
  • Identify areas of communication breakdown within teams and propose strategies to enhance communication channels.
  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment
