About The Position

Responsible for performing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, CNC and PLC repairs and troubleshooting on assigned equipment and facilities to required standards and codes.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a two-year post-secondary Electrical Power Technology program or equivalent content degree (for example, Industrial Electronic Technology)
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Pass background check and drug screen
  • Wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes
  • Willing to work in a tobacco-free environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively & work well with others
  • Must comply with all practices and procedures including the GE Bangor Handbook, the Code of Mutual Respect, and the GE Spirit & Letter
  • Must be able to work 1st shift. 1st shift is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Follow drawings, schematics and detailed verbal and written instructions
  • Maintain tools and required records in maintenance management system
  • Perform material handling duties as required [fork truck and aerial lift operation required]
  • Use gauging equipment as required for the position
  • Safely perform required rigging tasks and lifts using cranes and related equipment
  • Perform operator preventative maintenance per workstation standards
  • Perform and support Environmental, Health and Safety audits and related activities
  • Participate in process improvement, cycle reduction, and other activities as required to support the Bangor team and site goals
  • Perform plumbing, carpentry, fabrication, welding, and machining as required
  • Perform shop math as required
  • Interpret detailed NC schematics
  • Use computers as required for the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned
