We are seeking a motivated and hands-on SCADA / Controls Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This internship will focus on supporting automation and controls projects, with an emphasis on integrating plant equipment into the Ignition SCADA platform. This is a great opportunity for students interested in industrial automation, PLC programming, and real-world manufacturing systems.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field
  • Basic understanding of PLCs (such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with industrial networks and communication protocols is a plus
  • Exposure to SCADA systems (Ignition experience is a strong plus, but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with bringing plant equipment online and integrating it into the Ignition SCADA system
  • Support PLC communication setup (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
  • Help develop and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA screens in Ignition
  • Work with Controls and E&I technicians to diagnose and resolve equipment communication issues
  • Assist in tagging, mapping, and organizing data points within SCADA
  • Support the startup, testing, and commissioning of automated systems
  • Document system configurations, changes, and standard processes
