ELS is hiring for the position of Maintenance - Level I in Okeechobee, Florida. What You’ll Do: As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks that help ensure the community remains safe, functional, and well‑maintained. Your duties will include light appliance repairs, minor plumbing and carpentry work, painting, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks, along with other general maintenance responsibilities as needed. You will work collaboratively as part of the maintenance team to uphold the high-quality standards set by ELS and to support a positive experience for all residents and guests.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
- A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely work with heavy equipment.
- Willingness to be on call for after‑hours emergencies as needed.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all amenity spaces are well maintained, clean, and functioning properly.
- Maintaining the grounds and keeping all outdoor areas free of trash and debris.
- Working closely with management to uphold a clean, safe, and appealing property environment.
- Attending morning staff meetings to communicate daily vendor appointments, scheduled work, and maintenance priorities.
- Communicating regularly and professionally with fellow maintenance staff, management, and other team members, and collaborating on special maintenance projects as needed.
- Reporting maintenance concerns directly to management and performing necessary repairs in a timely manner.
- Safely moving heavy objects and operating maintenance vehicles to transport equipment or reach various locations throughout the property.
- Monitoring, organizing, and controlling maintenance inventory and supplies to ensure needed materials are available.
- Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned to support overall property operations.
