About The Position

Ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of plant equipment and facilities, protecting our people, communities, and customers. Drive operational excellence by improving asset reliability, reducing downtime, and optimizing maintenance and engineering processes. Lead and develop high-performing maintenance and engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement. Support sustainable manufacturing by implementing projects that reduce energy usage, waste, and environmental impact. Enable Bakelite’s growth and customer commitments through effective capital planning, project execution, and reliability strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably chemical manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in maintenance, engineering, or reliability functions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment systems.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, capital projects, and maintenance programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Experience with OSHA PSM, Mechanical Integrity, MOC, and HAZOP processes.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, predictive maintenance technologies, and reliability tools, SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
  • Experience supporting sustainability or energy-reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all maintenance and engineering activities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.
  • Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to support production and reliability goals.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, including plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Provide engineering leadership for capital projects, plant modifications, and process improvements.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Finance teams to achieve site objectives.
  • Drive compliance with OSHA PSM, Mechanical Integrity, MOC, and environmental regulations.
  • Use data, KPIs, and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities and guide decision-making.
