About The Position

This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring an individual with demonstrated technical expertise who will personally perform facility maintenance work while leading operational excellence for the site. As the sole operator, you will serve as the primary point of contact for client interactions while actively maintaining building systems and managing vendor relationships. This position requires technical trade skills, strong vendor management capabilities, and client relationship competencies, with a commitment to maintaining the highest level of professionalism, and meeting client needs.

Requirements

  • 10 years hands-on experience performing maintenance on commercial building systems
  • Active trade license/certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related building systems trade
  • Experience with Building Automation systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships and contractor oversight
  • Proven ability to interface professionally with clients and represent facility operations
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical issues for non-technical audiences
  • Self-directed work style with ability to operate independently and prioritize competing demands
  • Proven track record of maintaining building systems to high operational standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on a pharmaceutical, life science, lab commercial or manufacturing building.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex maintenance tasks on all building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical equipment
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on building infrastructure
  • Monitor equipment operation, review logs, and diagnose/repair problems and malfunctions as they occur
  • Work with tools daily to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot building systems
  • Serve as primary liaison between JLL and client for all facility operations matters
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance building performance and client satisfaction
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers to ensure quality and cost effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain qualified vendor network for specialized services and emergency response
  • Oversee contractor activities including scope verification, quality control, and work completion
  • Coordinate vendor schedules to minimize building disruption
  • Ensure vendor compliance with building policies, safety requirements, and client standards
  • Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy and scope alignment
  • Identify safety hazards and implement remediation efforts
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines; alert management to discrepancies
  • Ensure adequate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; prepare purchase orders and develop supply sources
  • Recommend and estimate facilities repairs and improvements for annual budget
  • Support after-hours building activities and emergency calls as required
  • Perform any and all other duties/tasks assigned
