About The Position

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for coordinating and performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, driving timely resolution of equipment issues, and supporting safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role provides technical leadership for the Maintenance Team, strengthens cross functional communication, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as an EM (Electromechanical) Technician, Millwright, Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, E&I Maintenance Technician or related technical field of study
  • Experience in all aspects of machinery repair & maintenance, facility maintenance, and leadership roles
  • Ability to work safely and remain attentive in a safety‑sensitive environment
  • Willingness to work overtime and be on an on-call scheduled rotation
  • Proficiency with a CMMS maintenance/asset management system
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Proficiency with maintenance tools, equipment, and computer systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid math skills
  • Metal fabrication skills

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize equipment breakdowns, work orders, and project tasks; communicate updates to the Maintenance Manager and team.
  • Manage the full work order lifecycle: entry, prioritization, assignment, execution, and documentation.
  • Provide advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks and ensure all work is accurately documented.
  • Verify successful completion of weekly and scheduled PM tasks.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to apprentices and technicians.
  • Communicate maintenance concerns, workload status, and performance needs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments to support operational goals.
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication on maintenance activities and project progress.
  • Provides operational support and coverage for the Maintenance Manager during absences or scheduled time off
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and GMP requirements.
  • Maintain accountability for responsibilities related to product safety, legality, and quality systems.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with contractor safety guidelines and annual orientation requirements.
  • Promote a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Identify improvement opportunities for maintenance systems, equipment reliability, and workflow efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
