About The Position

This position is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds at the Fillmore Campus and MCH Group Homes. The role involves basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills to maintain facilities. The Maintenance Lead will oversee and perform record-keeping for compliance with regulatory agencies, conduct regular preventive maintenance, assess facility conditions, and make recommendations for improvements. They will also maintain required annual health screenings, follow MCH policies affecting the Environment of Care, and maintain service logs. The role includes opportunities for professional growth and in-service training, and the ability to provide safety in-services to staff. The Maintenance Lead will assist the Maintenance Supervisor with safety, fire, and disaster drills, and provide direct supervision of maintenance staff, including employee assignments and work inspection. They will also work with contractors to oversee their performance and may accept other reasonable assignments. This is a designated safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in maintenance and repairs of facilities.
  • Two years supervisory experience working in maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to use an assortment of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Ability to direct others, using oral and/or written instructions.
  • Willing to travel to outlying Group Homes.
  • Ability to work under various working conditions (i.e. bend, stoop, lift, and stand for eight hours).
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical.
  • Requires ability to perform heaving lifting (at least 80 lbs.) when necessary.
  • Must have a valid Arkansas driver’s license and be insurable.
  • Flu vaccinations are mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds at the Fillmore Campus and MCH Group Homes.
  • Perform basic carpenter, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills to maintain facilities.
  • Oversee and perform record keeping for compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee and perform regularly scheduled and random preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Assess general condition of the facility and make appropriate recommendations for improvements or repairs.
  • Maintain annual tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis B, CPI, and all other annual requirements.
  • Follow all policies and procedures of MCH that affect the Environment of Care.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for maintaining service logs required in the maintenance department.
  • Take advantage of professional growth opportunities and regularly scheduled in-service and training provided for the maintenance staff.
  • Possess the ability to provide in-services to staff for safety of equipment, hand, or power tools used at the facilities.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with safety, fire, and disaster drills as requested.
  • Provide direct supervision of the maintenance staff.
  • Responsible for employee assignments and inspection of employee’s work responsibilities to ensure compliance.
  • Work with contractors to oversee their performance to meet the facility needs and requirements of service provided.
  • May accept other reasonable assignments as assigned by the EC Director.
