About The Position

Our Mars Wrigley plant is seeking a Maintenance Lead —an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience in manufacturing environments, including more than 3 years managing maintenance teams and 10 years in hands-on technical roles. As a key member of the extended Site Leadership Team, this position is also accountable for building positive and strategic working relationships with operations on a day-to-day basis as well as supporting a longer-term reliability strategy which improves the overall operation at the local plant and drives the standardization of network and regional best practices. This is a day-based role; however, direct reports cover a 4 shift 24/7 rotation, escalation management is required as needed, outside of standard working hours.

Requirements

Managerial / leadership experience with proven results in driving team performance and operational excellence.
Strong and demonstrated technical aptitude within a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing maintenance teams, with 10+ years of hands-on technical experience in production settings.
Required competencies include the ability to engage and motivate teams, develop employees, and maintain a results-oriented focus.
Experience in a maintenance-oriented technical role, overseeing equipment reliability and process optimization.
Responsible for managing a team of 15 direct reports.
Background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or qualifications as a Millwright or licensed Electrical Maintenance professional.

Responsibilities

Directly Manage all aspects of a team of Shift based Mechanics and Electricians and be able to direct and collaborate maintenance leaders and other support staff.
Organize and lead reactive, corrective, and preventative maintenance of factory equipment.
Responsible for all aspects of safety and food safety for plant Maintenance activities.
Manage maintenance related escalations from various functions to maintain a high level of customer service. (Operations, Safety, Quality)
Work closely with broader team to ensure plant PM activities are in good standing.
Lead MSE activities in the factory and with central teams - Ownership of the Maintenance Cost essential element within the PM Pillar.
Drive loss elimination in support of optimizing production line efficiencies using data from site CMMS and data collection systems.
Support daily management of 3rd party facility maintenance team.
Develop the skills and knowledge of the technical team in accordance with the needs of the factory.
Develop and manage ways of working with key stakeholders.
Lead maintenance projects and activities (safety/food safety/efficiency) aimed at continuous development and improvement of the factory.
