This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Arlington, TX on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will rotate amongst the three shifts and provide hands-on leadership in a fast-paced production environment. Relocation: This job may be eligible for relocation benefits. The Role: In this role, you will oversee a small to medium group of salaried maintenance Group Leaders. Leads the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard GM maintenance systems. You will conduct appropriate checks and tests and communicates evaluation of results. Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, recommends solutions to problems, and meets schedule and quality requirements in addition to the following responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience within high-volume manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing maintenance activities and hourly personnel.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation (schematics, blueprints, machine manuals)
  • Ability to work / rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)
  • Ability to work over-time, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed
  • Ability to travel <25% of the time or higher based on business needs domestically and/or internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. in Engineering (other technical disciplines may be considered if: 5+ Years direct technical knowledge & experience in manufacturing industry)
  • Working knowledge of cost counsel activities
  • Prior Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance assignment & working relationship with UAW leadership and UAW skilled trades.
  • Leadership in a manufacturing or maintenance environment
  • Familiarity with GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS) and Lean Manufacturing principle

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and coordinate work assignments to support production schedules and minimize downtime
  • Support implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with GM standards.
  • Lead and support GMS & BPD activities.
  • Lead a workplace safety system (WSS) element or performance standard (PS).
  • Lead training & versatility activities for hourly and salary die and maintenance team.
  • Direct supervision of maintenance group leaders across 3 shifts of operation
