About The Position

The Maintenance Lead oversees shift maintenance operations, directing technicians to ensure timely task completion and effective shift coordination. This role supports the Maintenance Supervisor in training, policy implementation, and departmental direction while partnering with Production and Warehouse teams to minimize downtime. The position ensures clear cross-shift communication and adherence to all safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must work in a team environment
  • Maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, ending, lunch and break schedules
  • Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines
  • Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • 5+ years of previous experience in related field

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines required by the Turkey Hill safety program and PRM Program.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP guidelines.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians in setup, install, repair, and maintaining all processing equipment associated with manufacturing and warehouse processes and functions.
  • Direct maintenance technicians engaged in repair and maintained mechanical parts of equipment and machines related to manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Requisition spare parts for all machines and equipment related to manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with other Maintenance Team Leaders to ensure an orderly transition between shifts.
  • Support the Maintenance Supervisor in career path development for maintenance technicians.
  • Supervise the on-the-job-training of maintenance technicians.
  • Monitor maintenance technicians’ performance to ensure timely and efficient utilization of the mechanics’ skills and time.
  • Perform daily tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Support assigned Maintenance Supervision in minimizing downtime due to equipment failures and communicating excessive downtime in a timely manner.
  • Ensure scheduled equipment checks are being completed on designated equipment.
  • Support the Maintenance Planner in minimizing backlog on work orders and schedules preventative maintenance.
  • Support and contribute to plant continuous improvement process.
  • Will work with production teams as part of the LEAN program.
  • Support the supervisor in evaluation of department preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work overtime, which will include Saturdays and Sundays, as determined by manufacturing requirement.
  • Basic level of skill and displayed ability of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel).
  • Ability to utilize all CMMS software capabilities to oversee assigning, tracking and completion of daily tasks.
  • Ensure all department associates perform job duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GMP, and safety regulations.
  • Works effectively with department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Systems.
