About The Position

The Maintenance Labor will perform the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the physical facilities and grounds throughout the Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park. As an active member of Facilities Management, this position will support the Zoo’s mission and advocate the Zoo’s core values and three keys.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Good attendance record and work ethic.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Possession or the ability to obtain a Missouri Class E Driver’s License is required for residents of Missouri.
• All successful candidates for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check and a drug test. As this is a safety-sensitive role, a negative drug test result is mandatory. The drug test screens for five substances, including marijuana.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the cultivation and care of the grounds and perimeter fence line (including but not limited to mowing, weed trimming, hedge trimming and plant cultivation.
• Assist with general maintenance of the vehicles and buildings.
• Utilize the CMMS work order system for work scheduling, preventative maintenance programs and record keeping.
• De-ice and clear snow from walks, pathways, roadways and parking lots throughout the Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park during inclement weather.
• Ensure that proper safety guidelines and usage of PPE are followed at all times.
• Know and understand the Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park employee handbook and adhere to all stated disciplinary actions and personnel policies.
• Work in close collaboration with all internal departments.
• Reporting to the Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Park, this position may be assigned tasks at the Sears Lehmann Jr. Wildlife Reserve or the Saint Louis Zoo.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
