About The Position

Mountain Valley Maintenance is hiring maintenance laborers for our outdoor crew. In winter, you will shovel, plow, and clear snow and ice from walkways, stairs, and driveways of the associations we take care of. In summer, you will mow, trim, plant, and maintain the same properties. This is a year-round job with consistent hours and pay throughout the year, with no seasonal layoffs. You will work on a crew of 4 to 6 individuals under a bilingual Maintenance Foreman who provides instructions in Spanish or English. English proficiency is not required for this role. Mountain Valley Maintenance has been a stable employer in the Vail Valley for over 20 years, with many long-term crew members.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and a driving record that can be insured.
Ability to work outdoors year-round in snow, ice, cold, heat, and at altitude.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, shovel for long stretches, and be on your feet all day.
Ability to start at 3am on storm days.
Reliable: must show up on time, every day, ready to work.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Experience with snow removal, landscaping, mowing, or construction labor.
Experience with commercial mowers, snow blowers, or small equipment.
Basic English (company will help with learning on the job).

Responsibilities

Shovel and snow-blow walkways, stairs, entries, and decks at association properties.
Spread deicer and sand, and clear ice from high-traffic areas.
Assist the plow driver with driveways and parking areas, and clear around vehicles and dumpsters.
Mow, edge, and trim lawns with commercial mowers and string trimmers.
Plant flowers and shrubs, spread mulch, pull weeds, and clean beds.
Rake, blow, and haul away leaves, branches, and debris.
Assist with irrigation repairs and seasonal startup and shutdown.
Haul materials, load and unload trucks and trailers, and keep tools and equipment clean.
Assist with painting, staining, minor repairs, and property cleanup projects.
Drive company trucks between properties.
Clock in and out on your phone and take a few photos of finished work.

Benefits

$24 to $28 per hour based on experience, paid every two weeks by direct deposit.
Overtime at 1.5 times your regular rate for hours over 40 in a week or over 12 in a day.
