About The Position

This is a temporary position for six to eight months. The Maintenance Laborer facilitates the completion of day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building, facility, equipment, and machinery, including HVAC and lighting systems, as well as grounds keeping, security, and overall facility appearance.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office required.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
• Good analytical skills and problem solving.
• Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently (with limited guidance) and as part of a team.
• Confidentiality and time management.
• Operate electric table saws, drill presses, sanders, electric meters, and other various machines in the tool shop.
• Operate electric 40-foot-high self-operated open bucket lift for working in high areas inside and outside.
• Operate forklift and material handling equipment.
• Drive the company truck (manual transmission) to run errands for materials, tools and supplies.
• Build various wood crates for shipping and packing of products.
• Use basic hand tools and battery-operated tools.
• Maintain and repair small tools and equipment.
• High school or trade school diploma.
• Minimum two (2) years’ related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Basic machining, welding, and/or fabrication skills are a plus.
• Electrician certification preferred.
• Plumbing certification preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine Facility maintenance (Interior and Exterior).
• Performs basic electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facilities maintenance activities.
• Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies outside of scope of routine maintenance.
• Performs preventative maintenance (PM) activities per schedule; maintains documentation of PM activity/results.
• Performs troubleshooting and repair of Production and Engineering equipment.
• Assists in maintaining calibration of testing/inspection equipment.
• Assists in cleaning and maintaining facility; maintains a clean, organized work environment.
• Supports process and equipment continuous improvement activities.
• Works in a safe manner and addresses unsafe conditions.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
• Perform all duties assigned by Supervisor.
