About The Position

The Riverdale Mill is currently seeking experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Journeymen who are dependable, and have excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills. The hourly rate of pay is $42.86. This is a top journeyman-level electrical and instrument (EI) person responsible to complete scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance and break-in EI work along with performing many other duties both as part of a team and independently. Duties include, but are not limited to: Install, troubleshoot, repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand-alone process drives of various manufacturers Troubleshoot, configure, maintain DCS systems Install, troubleshoot, maintain 480v and 2300v motors including induction, synchronous, wound rotor, permanent magnet and DC Installation, calibration, troubleshooting various manufacturers of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment Install, troubleshoot, maintain motor controls including electronic motor protection relays, sizing overloads and starter maintenance of various manufacturers Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners Install, troubleshoot, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo electric, speed and reflective switches Install, program, troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems including associated communication such as DH+, mod-bus, Ethernet Read, interpret and red line wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, P&ID’s and loop sheets Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards Communicate with operators while troubleshooting electrical and instrument controls Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on routine and extended annual outages Maintain shops, load centers, DCS work areas to a 5S standard Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • Must have two (2) of the following: Four-years electrical apprenticeship Electrical degree certified from accredited college or trade school Two (2) or more years industrial EI maintenance experience
  • Willing and capable of working all shifts
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification.
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
  • Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends
  • Wear required safety equipment/PPE
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection).
  • Undergo a drug-screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
  • Submit to periodic drug-screens as a condition of employment
  • Continue to develop job skills as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in a maintenance discipline.
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong math/physics understanding.
  • Prior experience as a multi-skill mechanic.

Responsibilities
