About The Position

The Purchasing & Facilities Department has an available full-time job opening for the position of Maintenance & Janitor Technician. This position is responsible for keeping the facility clean, sanitary, and well-maintained in keeping with federal, state and local health codes and regulations. This position will also perform general maintenance of building and Blood Center fleet.

Requirements

• High School graduate or Equivalent
• Valid Texas driver license required, with clean driving record
• 1-3 years working knowledge of janitorial/housekeeping equipment
• Ability to handle floor care equipment
• Integrity & ability to work independently
• Must be able to effectively and efficiently manage time
• Knowledge & experience using power tools
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and building repairs

Nice To Haves

• Maintenance & facilities background experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Facility areas include team offices, waiting areas, kitchens, restrooms, donor drawing areas, laboratory, blood component preparation areas, parking lot and surrounding areas, etc. Cleaning duties include but are not limited to dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, buffing, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.
• Emptying waste containers and trash from all areas of facility; disposing of trash and any medical waste according to facility policies and procedures.
• Documentation of daily duties; restocking and supply inventory.
• Floor maintenance includes: daily disinfecting/mopping, weekly buffing, waxing, and stripping. Must maintain clean and spot free carpeted areas.
• Building maintenance to ensure a safe and operational facility that may include repairs throughout the building inside and out.
• Assist with Blood Center fleet upkeep, vacuum, wash as needed or upon request.
