About The Position

Provides the full spectrum of Army training to include classroom (platform and small group), Hands-on/practical exercise, role-playing (simulation/virtual) and Field exercise training. This instructor teaches multiple 1 week courses that include; Introduction to Maintenance Support Device (MSD): Engine Diagnostics, Transmission Diagnostics, Pneumatic Diagnostics, Hydraulic Diagnostics, Generator Maintenance, 608/609 Motor Vehicle Air Condition, Introduction to Welding and Fabrication, and Roles of an Inspector. The Maintenance Instructor is responsible for conducting resident training courses that support Army Reserve Civilian employees associated with maintenance and supply operations. Instructors are required to prepare classroom or training areas and pick up and return training devices as needed; apply advanced instructional methods and adult learning models to training; train to standard as they conduct classroom discussion / lecture / demonstration / practical exercise training per class training schedule; support conducting and assessing student critiques to identify strengths, weaknesses, and actions to improve performance; review and summarize student course critiques; schedule remedial training as needed; conduct academic counseling; review and grade projects and tests; for certain courses, prepare and forward required documentation on student release prior to graduation; generate reports, documents, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, and correspondence for respective training courses. Instructors shall prepare training materials, develop training aids, set up classrooms, and deliver instruction. With the use of training materials or aids, the instructor shall prepare training support and exercise support functions for training courses. The Instructor shall: a) Prepare and maintain training venues and materials. b) Ready training venues and materials IAW course requirements. c) Prepare class records, writing material, method to validate, administer, and score examinations. d) Include the use of Computer Based Training (CBT) and Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) during lesson plan development.

Requirements

  • HS degree. AA or Bachelor’s degree in Supply, Logistics or relevant field preferred.
  • Five years’ experience working Logistical Management in the areas of maintenance, property, supply, budget, and transportation.
  • Must possess the skills to manage all resources specific to the tasks assigned to include supervision, scheduling, budget control, research, report preparation and customer deliverables.
  • A minimum of five years of experience around military logistic operations or equivalent.
  • Received official instructor courses form the military or civilian sectors.
  • Performed as an instructor for more than two years.
  • Provide qualifications and or certifications associated with the course work material.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend technical manuals, publications and interpret mechanical specifications, tolerance limits and trouble shooting and repair techniques.
  • Must have experience as a maintenance role user of the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A).
  • Must be qualified to provide hands-on training with common support equipment (i.e. Diagnostic tools, Air Condition, Arc Welding, etc.) utilized in two tier levels of maintenance.
  • Requires a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) prior to commencement of performance under this contract.

Nice To Haves

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree in Supply, Logistics or relevant field.
  • Experience as an Army Equipment mechanic preferred.
