About The Position

Maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district. This role involves a variety of tasks related to groundskeeping, equipment operation, and general maintenance to ensure the district's facilities are well-kept and safe. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with opportunities for cross-training with Maintenance III staff.

Requirements

Valid Texas driver’s license
High School Diploma/GED
Ability to read and understand written instructions
Ability to communicate (verbally)
Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate tractor, skid-steer and mini excavator preferred

Responsibilities

Assist in painting and chalking sports fields
Paint and stencil parking lots
Trim and remove trees
Maintain and repair playground equipment
Assist in fencing and concrete work
Crosstrain with maintenance III staff as time allows
Minimal mowing and weed trimming
Distribute playground surface material
Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish and refuse from district facilities
Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
Help keep vehicle, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.
Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
Transport workers and equipment to work sites throughout the district.
Assist General Maintenance staff when required.
