About The Position

The Maintenance-IA position is responsible for repairing and maintaining all production-related machinery and the physical plant. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various machinery and auxiliary equipment. The position also requires documentation, adherence to safety procedures, welding/fabrication, and continuous skill development. Additionally, the role involves operating specific equipment, assisting engineering on projects, and following food safety, GMP, and safety policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Fork lift certification.
  • Hands-on experience in pneumatics, basic electricity, and mechanical devices.
  • Proficiency in the usage of hand and power tools, measuring devices, welding, surface grinders, and lathe.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly diagrams, electrical and pneumatic symbols and diagrams, and blueprints/schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance according to established procedures.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical issues on molding and lining department machinery and auxiliary support equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical issues on molding and lining department machinery and auxiliary support equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic issues on molding machines.
  • Contacts outside resources for troubleshooting assistance and to obtain part numbers.
  • Notifies supervisor of part numbers for low inventory stock or parts needed for repairs.
  • Performs mold and lining tool changes when necessary.
  • Adjusts lining machine vision systems when necessary.
  • Performs and completes necessary documentation for daily, weekly, and monthly PMs, safety checks, and troubleshooting/repairs.
  • Follows and adheres to all safety rules and procedures such as lock out / tag out and arch flash.
  • Welds and/or fabricates parts for machines as needed.
  • Continually increases skills through education and training.
  • Familiarizes themselves with all equipment on the production floor including its purpose, use, and function.
  • Operates aerial lifts, motorized pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Assists engineering on projects as needed and directed by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.
  • Responsible for following all Food Safety and GMP related policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Provides backup for Off-shift Maintenance.
