About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance I to join our team, specifically focused on working with seniors. Previous experience in maintenance is mandatory. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance the value of the apartment community, in a timely, professional and courteous manner. Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area. With almost 20 years of development experience and over 1,700 residential units developed to date, Providence has taken over the property management functions of Christopher Homes, Inc. and is proud to add their 60-year history of excellence to our team managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments. We focus on the production and preservation of affordable housing and empowering strong communities. A typical day in the life of a Maintenance I working with seniors involves overseeing both resident apartments and property maintenance needs. Every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact on both residents and staff, creating a safe, welcoming environment for seniors to call home.

Requirements

• Previous experience in maintenance is mandatory.
• Must have a passion for working with seniors and creating a positive, supportive environment.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be comfortable using computers and property management software.
• Must be reliable, adaptable, and ready to handle occasional on-call responsibilities.
• Successful completion of drug and background testing.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing both resident apartments and property maintenance needs.
• Creating a safe, welcoming environment for seniors to call home.
• Responding to urgent situations outside of regular business hours to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
