About The Position

This position is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds at the MCH facility. The role requires basic skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC to maintain the facility. Responsibilities include performing regular scheduled preventive maintenance checks, assessing the general condition of MCH facilities, and making recommendations for improvements or repairs. The role also involves maintaining annual tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis B, CPI, and other MCH annual requirements, as well as adhering to all policies and procedures affecting the Environment of Care and attending in-service training. This employee may also be assigned other reasonable duties as necessary for the efficient operation of assigned programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years experience working in maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to use an assortment of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to work under various working conditions (i.e. bend, stoop, lift, and stand for eight hours).
  • Requires ability to perform heavy lifting (at least 80 lbs.) when necessary.
  • Must have a valid Arkansas driver’s license and be insurable.
  • Flu shot is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds at the MCH facility.
  • Perform basic carpenter, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills to maintain the MCH facility.
  • Perform basic record keeping maintaining written records for compliance with the Department of Health, TJC and other regulatory agencies.
  • Perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance checks.
  • Assess general condition of MCH facilities and make recommendation for improvements or repairs.
  • Maintain annual tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis B, CPI, and all other MCH annual requirements.
  • Follow all policies and procedures that affect the Environment of Care.
  • Attend regularly scheduled in-service training.
  • Accept other reasonable assignments, which may be necessary for the efficient operation of assigned programs as there is time and opportunity.
