About The Position

Perform work assignments related to the basic installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical/electronic systems. Conducts basic repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, machine tools, production lines, production machines and equipment. The scope of responsibility for this position pertains to the entire site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Minimum 1.5 years experience in Building or Equipment Maintenance role or educational equivalent (completion of industrial maintenance training).

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic repairs on machine/equipment with supervision and support from senior mechanic as needed.
  • Assists with advanced repair in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronic and plumbing.
  • Performs a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance for Stellar Technology facilities, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work.
  • Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replaces filters; identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Gains experience and knowledge of operating machine tools with training and supervision.
  • Reads and interprets complex equipment and operation instructions to perform basic repairs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair of CNC equipment and a variety of other controls with guidance from senior mechanics.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Assists in installing and repairing electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment under supervision.
  • Helps lay out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment with guidance.
  • Ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.
  • Performs custodial tasks and structural pest control measures.
  • Maintains records and logs of daily activities.
  • Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Works safely and actively participates in all plant safety directives while adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Safely and effectively uses, operates, and maintains equipment and tools.
  • Infrequent travel required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
