About The Position

This position performs maintenance mechanic functions safely and acceptably, including preventative maintenance on equipment assigned by maintenance supervisors or the lead hand. The role supports the maintenance department’s day-to-day operations and assists other plant areas when major problems occur. Work may be assigned across Fabrication, Slaughter, Material Handling, Rendering, E&E, and B&E departments, based on company needs.

Requirements

• Some related maintenance experience.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work weekends or as needed.
• Willingness to work in both hot and cold environments.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned scheduled and unscheduled work as directed by a supervisor.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures on assigned equipment.
• Assist other plant areas when major problems occur.
• Assist with the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department and its areas.
• Monitor and document assigned maintenance areas as required by safety, food safety, company policy, and procedures.
