About The Position

The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Maintenance/Grounds Technician to join our facilities department. Responsibilities Reporting to the Campus Supervisor, the Maintenance/Grounds Technician will be responsible for the following: Oversee and assist with the upkeep of the grounds and facilities. Continuously inspect campuses for safety, aesthetic needs, and correct accordingly or recommend long-term solutions. Perform a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds, including, but not limited to: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks. Repair and treat structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets. Perform minor troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, etc. Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certified required or must be obtained upon hire.
  • Must have knowledge of and be comfortable working with technology.
  • Self-directed individual who is solution orientated, flexible and works well with teams and individuals while possessing a positive attitude.
  • Able to multi-task with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong verbal and organizational skills.
  • Must hold a valid Florida driver’s license, CDL preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in the use and storage of pesticides preferred.
  • Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid preferred, will provide upon hire if needed

  • This is a 12-month full-time non-exempt position eligible for overtime and available immediately.
