About The Position

The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support efficient plant operations. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, ensuring food safety, maintaining equipment reliability, and promoting a safe work environment while adhering to Tyson Foods policies and procedures. Responsibilities are based on existing Tyson maintenance job descriptions and Forest facility references.

Requirements

  • Must have 1 year of maintenance experience within the immediate past 2 years.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • This facility will not accept applicants that have worked for Tyson Foods more than 3 times.
  • This facility accepts rehires after 365 days.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote Tyson’s safety culture.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
  • Repair and replace motors, pumps, bearings, shafts, conveyors, augers, couplings, steam and water lines.
  • Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor electrical repairs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and other maintenance equipment as trained and certified.
  • Support emergency repairs and respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by maintenance leadership.
