About The Position
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- Must be able to use basic hand tools.
- Basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
- Knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing.
- Able to read & understand assignments.
- Able to communicate orally & in writing.
- Able to hear/respond to two-way radio.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors.
- Basic knowledge of math.
- Able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment.
- At least 6 months of mechanical/maintenance skills in the last 24 months, preferably industrial maintenance listed on application.
- 6 months continuous employment with one employer in the last 24 months.
- Must complete the final task that is separate from the application.
- Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets.
- Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
- Using basic hand tools.
- Performing welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing, and replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems.
- Monitoring boiler and performing chemical tests on boiler.
- Reading drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems.
- Operating various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.
- Furthering education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training.
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
