About The Position

This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The position requires responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, handling emergency situations, and performing preventive maintenance. The work environment can vary in temperature, and may be dusty, warm, cold, and/or humid. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting up to 70 lbs may be required.

Requirements

  • 6 months of industrial maintenance experience listed on the application or currently enrolled at an industrial maintenance program, or one year of classroom training from a technical college. (food industry preferred)
  • Maintenance will be considered work in mechanic, fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance.

  • There is 180 days (6 months) waiting period for former Tyson Foods team members.
  • Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
  • Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
  • Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
  • Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
  • Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
