About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician will perform a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks associated with maintenance, troubleshooting, HVAC, Motor Repairs, Welding, Machine repair and modification to the plants mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and plumbing systems and equipment. Specific tasks will depend upon area of assignment and skill level.

Requirements

  • Resume must be attached to Internal Application with Related Work History and or experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED from accredit institution is required.
  • Applicant must have excellent safety record (no safety violations within previous 12-month period).
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to read write and interpret equipment, general safety procedures, to ensure the safety of our team members.
  • Candidates must complete their 90-day probationary period to be eligible.
  • Employees must have three (3) points or fewer and maintain three (3) points or fewer to remain in their position.
  • Must be able to work in ANY Area / Dept. Assigned either in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment.
  • Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas.
  • Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends upon area).
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicant with experience in any of these skills and or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lifting is required in many areas to perform job functions.
  • Communicating well with others.
  • Comprehending Training Material as well as completing necessary paperwork as needed.
  • Successfully completing Lockout/Tagout and Fall Arrest/Prevention training as well as all Maintenance Training Levels.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
