About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any department of the feed mill. Requirements

  • Six (6) months operator experience with one employer in the previous 12-months.
  • Three to five years related experience with at least three years in an industrial setting/relevant work experience.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent to include Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred, or combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field in lieu of a Diploma.
  • Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess basic math and computer skills.
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl.
  • Applicant must reside in a 30-mile radius of the facility.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Working in any department of the feed mill.
  • Entering data into a handheld computer system.
  • Using basic hand tools, operating power tools and all automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders and ladders as needed.
  • Obtaining powered industrial truck certification (PIT).
  • Working with specialized equipment and observing the use of said equipment.
  • Keeping machines maintained and clean.
  • Working alongside contractors to ensure equipment is being properly utilized.
  • Going through training to properly set up, operate, and shut down equipment.
  • Having performance evaluated by Tyson and vendor to ensure machines are being operated properly.
  • Fabricating by welding and cutting.
  • Reading and writing to follow Tyson preventive maintenance program.
