About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. These positions work in all departments of this pork processing facility, performing preventative maintenance repairing equipment used in production such as conveyor lines, trolley systems, Rendering machinery, and hydraulic systems. Other duties may include welding, basic electrical work, and working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas. These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work 2nd or 3rd Shift.
  • Must have 1 year's experience and/or education in at least two of the following General Maintenance related areas: Mechanical troubleshooting, Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting, Hydraulic troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting and Navigation, Welding/Fabrication, AC/DC Control Wiring, Motor Control, 3 Phase Wiring, Plumbing, Conveyor Maintenance, Hydraulics, Pneumatic systems.
  • Must be available to work any department, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.
  • Must be able to read and understand manuals.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 plus pounds as necessary.
  • Must be willing and able to work in confined space and working at heights above normal work area.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Candidates hired into this position will be expected to stay on track with their training until he/she reaches level 7.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets.

  • Executing and documenting work completed on scheduling sheets.
  • Completing computer-based training modules and understanding training manuals.
  • Working in confined spaces and at heights above normal work area.
  • Using ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
