About The Position

Lead General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. You must be able to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Position requires knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics and other maintenance related areas. Must be able to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders, fill out the daily documentation required, perform preventative maintenance routines as scheduled by Supervisor as well as confirm time into the SAP system to record daily activities and create equipment history. Must be able to read and write where required, must be able to communicate with management and co-workers as needed, must be able to process paperwork necessary to position, must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing to lift, push, pull up to 95 lbs., climb stairs and ladders on a daily basis, be willing to work in cold environments with temperatures ranging from -10 to 55 degrees in the production area to an environment that is tied to what the weather outside is (rain, heat, cold, insects), wet conditions, slippery floors in some areas, concrete floors and noise levels that are loud enough to require hearing protection and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 8 to 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job. Experience operating PIT preferred or willing to learn to operate PIT. Electrical experience preferred.

Requirements

  • At least 6 continuous months of mechanical/maintenance work experience within the last 24 months, preferably industrial maintenance.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to communicate with management and co-workers.
  • Must be willing to lift, push, pull up to 95 lbs.
  • Must be willing to climb stairs and ladders on a daily basis.
  • Must be willing to work in cold environments (-10 to 55 degrees).
  • Must be willing to work in environments tied to outside weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, insects).
  • Must be willing to work in wet conditions with slippery floors.
  • Must be willing to work on concrete floors.
  • Must be willing to work in loud noise environments requiring hearing protection.
  • Must be willing to work on your feet for 8 to 12 hours.
  • Must be willing to take and pass forklift operation certification.
  • Must be willing to take and pass aerol lift certification.
  • Must complete the final task separate from the application.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • Applicants who have worked at Tyson 3 times or more are not eligible for rehire.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
