About The Position

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Alaska Air National Guard (ANG), is recruiting for a Maintenance Generalist-Journey! This position is in the Labor, Trades, and Crafts (LTC) bargaining unit at a wage grade 54. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The DMVA and AK Air National Guard ensures mission readiness by supporting airmen skilled in strategic airlift, air defense, and combat support across all assigned missions. Requirements

  • Must pass a federal background check to qualify for military base access.
  • Must be able to maintain the clearance throughout employment.
  • If using a private vehicle, must have a valid Alaska Driver License, proof of vehicle insurance, and a valid State of Alaska vehicle registration.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) in some cases.
  • A background check investigation, including a criminal records check, will be conducted. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude appointment; circumstances will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance on building systems, individual building sections, and complex whole structures.
  • Identifying and addressing maintenance needs, ensuring all repairs and new work meet precise fit, accurate dimensions, and quality appearance standards.
  • Performing carpentry work independently, meeting precise fit, accurate dimensions, and quality appearance standards.
