About The Position

Grandview Kids provides an array of specialized programs, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinical treatments to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs. Programs and services – which are delivered at the Centre, in the community, at schools, and in-home – include: medical consultation, assessment, and diagnosis; audiology, autism support; complex care program; occupational therapy; physiotherapy; respite services; social work; speech-language pathology; therapeutic recreation; and family engagement. Grandview Kids is now accepting applications for the position of: Maintenance General Labour Student (Contract Full-Time) - 3 positions. Contract Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week (1FTE). Salary: $18 per hour. Contract Duration: June 22nd, 2026 – August 15th, 2026. Onsite / In-Person. Working Hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm and 11:00am to 7:00pm on Monday – Friday. Under the direct supervision of the Caretaker Lead the Summer Student role includes working in a team environment assisting with performing general maintenance duties to assist with regular outdoor maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Flexible, reliable, with previous cleaning experience in a healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence

Responsibilities

  • Grass cutting and landscaping, line trimming, weeding, flower bed maintenance, litter removal, and minor maintenance and repairs to equipment relating to grass mowing and litter removal activities.
  • Operation and maintenance of equipment – operate and maintain equipment used for grass mowing, trimming and litter removal.
  • Facility housekeeping, i.e., sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling, etc.
  • Re-painting as required which may include common areas, mechanical rooms and/or exterior fixtures, and other areas as assigned.
  • Help with facility and grounds inspections and accurately record the results.
  • Handle administrative duties such as organizing data, preparing documentation, and providing customer service assistance.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety standards to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations and execute all work in a safe and professional manner.
