About The Position

DuPont's Diversified Industrials business is seeking a Maintenance Front-Line Leader for the Valley View, Ohio, plant. The Maintenance Front-Line Leader supervises and coordinates the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers. May also advise customers on recommended services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Relevant industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
  • Demonstrated technical background in pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, industrial controls, motors, sensors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Experience developing, scheduling, and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including work-order management, equipment history, preventive-maintenance scheduling, and maintenance metrics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and regulatory requirements, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, hot work, confined space, and contractor safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and develop maintenance technicians while planning work, setting priorities, and coordinating resources across production schedules.
  • Experience managing maintenance contractors, vendors, spare-parts inventories, repair costs, and departmental budgets.
  • Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chemical, aerospace, specialty materials, or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or related maintenance/reliability certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.
  • Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, or outside contractors.
  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
  • Confer with personnel, such as management, engineering, quality control, to coordinate work activities, identify and review resource needs.
  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
  • Design equipment configurations to meet personnel needs.
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
  • Develop or implement electronic maintenance programs or computer information management systems.
  • Develop, implement, or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
  • Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, or job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
  • Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings.
  • Meet with vendors or suppliers to discuss products used in repair work.
  • Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
  • Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
  • Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation and monitoring departmental expenditures.
  • Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.
  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
  • Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors.
