The position requires evening/night and weekend availability, with specific hours to be determined by the Maintenance Director.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Current valid Driver’s License
Knowledge of cleaning equipment and floor maintenance equipment.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of general maintenance and repair procedures.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of how to strip, wax and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance.
Operating knowledge of common hand/power tools, yard tools and motorized equipment such as a hammer, pliers, lawn mower, etc.
A good working knowledge of taking care of plants such as planting, fertilizing, watering, etc.

Responsibilities

Maintain clean, safe, and well-presented interior spaces, including floors in patient care areas, corridors, offices, and public spaces using specialized floor care equipment.
Support a safe and healing environment by ensuring facility interiors are functional, sanitary, and compliant with hospital standards.
Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on maintenance and floor care equipment prior to use.
Adhere to all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements, including proper use of PPE and approved procedures in patient care environments.
Secure work areas and post appropriate safety signage to protect patients, staff, and visitors from potential hazards.
Respond promptly to interior maintenance needs, including minor repairs such as light bulb replacement and other basic facility upkeep.
Assist with maintaining the appearance, safety, and accessibility of hospital grounds, including mowing, trimming, watering, and general landscape care.
Ensure outdoor areas, walkways, and entrances are safe, clean, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and staff.
Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, entrances, and parking areas and apply salt or deicer to maintain safe access during inclement weather.
Safely operate, clean, and maintain tools and equipment used for both interior maintenance and grounds care.
Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and sensitivity when working in patient and public areas to minimize disruption to care and services.
Attend required training, safety briefings, and mandatory meetings to remain compliant with healthcare policies and regulatory standards.
Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support 24/7 healthcare operations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.
