As an Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will be based onsite at our Renton, WA facility and report to the General Manager. In this role, you’ll lead the site maintenance function while also serving as a hands-on technical resource and corporate-level engineering support. You’ll ensure high equipment uptime, provide expert guidance on capital projects, and help elevate maintenance practices across MRP. Your work will directly support safe operations, efficient production, smart capital investment, and long-term asset reliability.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining processing or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience supervising or leading maintenance teams.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD software.
  • Experience working with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, industrial controls, drives, and/or robotics.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical education.
  • Experience in folding carton, lithographic printing, or related high-speed manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience supporting capital projects or equipment installations across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
  • Oversee all maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Manage Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to maximize equipment availability and performance.
  • Monitor plant equipment and systems to reduce unplanned downtime and address emerging issues.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment, facilities, and grounds to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders, parts, and maintenance history.
  • Be involved in setting and managing to the maintenance department and plant capital budgets.
  • Partner with production, scheduling, and engineering teams to plan maintenance activities that minimize disruption.
  • Support training of production personnel on equipment care and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Communicate breakdowns, delays, and unresolved issues promptly to plant leadership.
  • Lead planning, execution, and commissioning of onsite capital projects, including new equipment installations and facility upgrades.
  • Serve as a corporate engineering resource, supporting equipment upgrades and capital initiatives across multiple sites.
  • Provide project management expertise to ensure timelines, budgets, and technical expectations are met.
  • Work with external vendors, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all local/state/federal regulations.
  • Support environmental program requirements and coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Partner with Safety and Environmental teams on inspections, documentation, and corrective actions.
  • Lead with safety and promote safe work practices at all times.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate maintenance personnel.
  • Manage labor resources, including overtime approval and staffing levels.
  • Oversee parts inventory and procurement to ensure availability while meeting budget targets.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment built on transparency and open communication.
