About The Position

Embassy Suites Hotel is currently seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team! We are looking for a dependable, skilled, and service-oriented professional who takes pride in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning hotel environment for our guests and team members.

Requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Ability to perform heavy work, including exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to safely work from tall ladders and perform maintenance tasks at elevated heights.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate situations and select appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful or high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate, prevent, identify, and resolve workplace issues.
  • Ability to understand and process information from multiple sources and adapt solutions to specific situations.
  • Strong listening and communication skills when working with guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to all guests, employees, and managers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and wear the proper uniform and name tag according to brand standards.
  • Follow all Vesta Hospitality standards, policies, and safety procedures to support safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests.
  • Report emergencies, unusual situations, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of hotel equipment and facilities.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs, including: Changing light bulbs and fixtures, Touch-up painting and drywall repairs, Minor furniture repairs, Tub and bathroom caulking, Tile repairs, Plumbing repairs, Laundry equipment repairs, Vacuum cleaner and small equipment repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on: Ice machines, Refrigerators and kitchen equipment, Laundry equipment, HVAC systems, Guest rooms, Meeting rooms, Swimming pool and hot tub, Exhaust fans and supply systems.
  • Monitor energy conservation and help identify opportunities to reduce energy usage.
  • Respond immediately to alarms, determine their location and cause, assess the emergency status, and communicate findings to the Front Desk.
  • Identify and assist with correcting potential safety hazards.
  • Assist with maintaining health-code requirements for the swimming pool and spa.
  • Demonstrate a cooperative, helpful, and professional attitude at all times.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as needed.
