Maintenance Engineer
About The Position
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor while providing personalized service to hotel guests. This role involves effective communication with guests and team members, performing basic electrical and plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, lock maintenance, smoke alarm installation, and pool maintenance. The position also requires maintaining a clean and organized shop and tools, periodic cleaning of gutters and water heaters, and assisting other team members to ensure optimal department and hotel performance. The Maintenance Engineer will deliver DKN’s "Home Away From Home" experience and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (1) year of maintenance experience.
- Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, screening and locks.
- Proper tool and chemical use.
- English speaking or bilingual.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments.
- Valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance.
- Good driving record.
- Dependable.
- Must be aware of the importance of safety and security.
- Endeavor to be conscious of safety and security at all times.

- Friendly and courteous to guests and fellow team members at all times.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
- Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
- Basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Carpentry and screening.
- Interior and exterior painting.
- Changing locks, installing smoke alarms.
- Pool maintenance.
- Maintain shop and tools in clean, orderly and safe condition.
- Periodically clean gutters, drain water heaters.
- Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
- Deliver DKN’s "Home Away From Home" experience
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
