Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
• Previous steel mill experience

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in the steel industry
• Demonstrated problem solving techniques and root cause identification
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works or Inventor)
• Demonstrated project management skills and experience; PMP certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Providing technical support for maintenance and operations
• Designing, and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical components and systems
• Performing mechanical load ratings of various systems
• Designing and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Designing and troubleshooting pumping systems
• Capital project management
• Assisting with set up of preventative and predictive maintenance programs by applying engineering principles and practices and demonstrating high level of project management leadership
• Design and implementation of new systems and modification of existing equipment
• Improve production and maintenance processes, keeping accurate documentation for all improvements in the area of responsibility
• Provide technical expertise with regard to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Failure analysis/troubleshooting
• Work in cooperation with other departments or teams
• Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
