Apply engineering concepts to safely optimize equipment, procedures, and departmental budgets to achieve better maintainability, reliability, and availability of equipment. This role involves analyzing repetitive equipment failures, identifying root causes, making recommendations, implementing corrective actions, and developing long-term equipment reliability programs. The engineer will also estimate maintenance costs, evaluate alternatives, and assist in selecting and maintaining software for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) processes. Additionally, they will develop and maintain the CMMS system for the facility, forecast spare parts requirements, and assess the need, timing, and cost for equipment upgrades, rebuilds, and replacements. The position also requires coordinating with other engineering resources, operations, maintenance personnel, and outside contractors to schedule and manage projects. Secondary functions include assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with planning, scheduling, and supervising internal services for Maintenance, Machine Shop, and Engineering departments, as well as procuring outside contractors/vendors for facility auxiliary systems. The role also involves maintaining the work order system, participating in safety, environmental, and ISO audits, and promoting lean, quality, and team concepts.
