About The Position

Performs general maintenance work to ensure Resort and surrounding buildings maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained. This is a swing/PM shift position. The role requires a professional attitude and appearance, and a natural aptitude for understanding, working with, and fixing mechanical systems, machines. The engineer will assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders to maintain the Resort and keep the product up to quality standards. This includes making minor repairs to electrical and plumbing systems, refurbishing furniture and fixtures, painting, and installing/repairing flooring. The position also involves responding to radio calls, assisting guests, and being a team player. The engineer must provide their own small hand tools.

Requirements

  • Basic maintenance abilities required.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to take & follow directions.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and manage time & activity.
  • Must provide own small hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • At least a minimum of 18 months of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Hotel, Resort or Facility maintenance experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders such as replace ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
  • Check and make minor repairs to electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems.
  • Check and make minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets, sinks, and kitchen equipment.
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures within the property such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters.
  • Paint and finish as needed.
  • Install and/or repair flooring such as ceramic tile, vinyl, carpet, etc.
  • Work various shifts as the needs of the property change.
  • Respond to radio calls in a timely manner and report status (follow-up).
  • Be responsive to guest issues.
  • Pitch in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Assist all guests, guest functions and all group set-ups as required.
