Key West Historic Inns is seeking an Engineer I to join our Engineering team and play an important role in maintaining the comfort, safety, and overall experience of our guests. As an Engineer I, you will support the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our historic properties by performing routine maintenance, responding to repair requests, troubleshooting issues, and helping ensure equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1+ years of maintenance, engineering, facilities, or related experience preferred
  • Hospitality or hotel maintenance experience is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and guest service skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in varying conditions

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work throughout guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls
  • Troubleshoot and assist in repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance issues
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks and inspections as assigned
  • Maintain equipment and tools in safe working condition
  • Assist with property projects, room turns, and upkeep of hotel facilities
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns proactively
  • Complete work orders accurately and timely
  • Support hotel operations while minimizing disruption to guests
  • Follow company safety standards, policies, and procedures
