About The Position

This role is responsible for the general upkeep and preventive maintenance of the hotel building and rooms, as well as the upkeep of restaurant and bar areas (front and back of house). The position also involves maintaining the exterior and landscaped areas around the buildings and courtyards. A key aspect of this role is ensuring the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and repair of all department tools, equipment, and safety features according to established procedures. The Maintenance Engineer & Groundskeeper will also be responsible for keeping all workspaces clean and orderly, properly storing tools, equipment, and spare parts, and ensuring the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment. The role requires timely and professional completion of delegated work orders and immediate reporting and addressing of unsafe conditions. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have a general understanding of building maintenance and construction.
  • Must have a general understanding of grounds keeping and landscaping.
  • Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for general upkeep and preventive maintenance of hotel building and rooms.
  • Responsible for general upkeep of restaurants and bars front and back of house areas.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of exterior and landscaped areas around buildings and courtyard areas.
  • Ensure the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance and repair of all department tools, equipment and safety features are in accordance of established procedures.
  • Ensure all work spaces are kept in a clean and orderly manner and storing all tools, equipment and spare parts in proper location.
  • Responsible for the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
  • Responsible to complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reports and addresses unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
