About The Position

Responsible for performing routine maintenance. Completes basic and major preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshoots minor equipment maintenance problems involving electrical, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. Assists on projects assigned to the department, administrates cosmetic repairs to the facility finishes, and assists in all areas of facilities maintenance as directed. This role also involves assisting with training and onboarding of new staff, making recommendations for process improvements, and performing routine inspections of lighting. The position requires responding to maintenance requests within a designated timeframe, maintaining pool facilities if applicable, and ensuring a neat, clean, and organized work area. The employee must maintain a working knowledge of all rules, regulations, and controls, and adhere to safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Additionally, the role promotes an atmosphere of fun for casino guests and encourages mutual respect, dignity, and integrity among employees by setting positive examples.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, air conditioning maintenance, Rational Combination Ovens, Ice Machines, and Chiller Plants.
  • Valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Successfully complete a physical abilities test for essential functions of this job, including a color blindness test to distinguish color.
  • Requires a Level 4 Gaming License.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to climb a twelve (12) foot ladder.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Applicants must successfully complete screening for essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 2-5 years’ experience with a significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, or on-the-job training.
  • HVACR Certification, EPA I & II or Universal license, Certified Pool Operator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with training and onboarding of existing and new staff.
  • Perform basic and major maintenance and/or repairs of facilities equipment, including HVACR.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Assist in all areas of facilities maintenance.
  • Perform routine inspections of all lighting throughout the property, identifying and resolving potential problems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and in-house calls in a designated time frame.
  • Maintain pool facilities (if they exist at the property) as assigned.
  • Work independently and advise supervisor of additional assistance needed.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area in the engineering shop.
  • Prepare daily work forms.
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Create an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
  • Encourage mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times.
