About The Position

The maintenance employee will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role is responsible for the general maintenance of facilities and equipment, ensuring buildings and grounds are neat and well maintained. Preventive maintenance should be practiced in all areas, and safety practices should be used in the performance of all duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of three years’ working experience in maintenance or a related field is required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to prescribed routines.
  • Ability to make decisions based on correspondence, data or other information.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues.
  • Ability to perform various equipment repairs.
  • Ability to operate a wide variety of equipment.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand oral and written information in English
  • Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision/ work independently.
  • Ability to operate in a professional manner at all times.
  • Conscientious- care about how work is done and desire to do a good job.
  • Initiative- responding to downtime by taking responsibility to do other work.
  • A positive attitude regardless of circumstances at hand

Nice To Haves

  • A current certification, documented educational training, or an AAS degree in HVAC, Welding, Electrical or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance duties for all buildings.
  • Perform upkeep and care of campus grounds.
  • Work cooperatively with team members.
  • Complete maintenance work order requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Use the purchase order process to place orders for parts and supplies as needed and maintain appropriate records.
  • Setup for all events in assigned buildings.
  • Maintain heating, cooling, and safe operation of all facilities.
  • Participate in opening and securing all buildings daily as assigned.
  • Maintain the integrity of the flags and hardware.
  • Issue keys and maintain appropriate records in assigned buildings.
  • Assist others in maintenance and housekeeping with routine duties.
  • Adhere to and implement the established preventative maintenance plan for campus buildings and equipment.
  • Adhere to and implement the routine service and maintenance plan for college fleet vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with local ordinances for fire, safety, construction, and elevator inspections.
  • Assume all other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • The ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
