Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Electrician Certificate with Red Seal from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
  • Familiarity with hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with downstream extrusion is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, circuits diagrams and electrical code specifications.
  • Install, test, replace, and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
  • Install, replace, and repair safety circuits, analog process instruments, and digital instruments.
  • Install, replace, and repair PLC instrumentation and controls on a wide variety of industrial applications.
  • Install, replace, and repair motor starters and VFD's.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, provincial, and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications.
