About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems and machinery to ensure the smooth operation of Soundwich. The Maintenance Electrician will identify and address safety and environmental hazards, perform electrical tests, repair or replace components, and utilize schematics and PLC programs for diagnostics. The position also involves ordering parts, operating powered industrial trucks and cranes, and performing maintenance on specific equipment like the Laser Cutter. A strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, the National Electrical Code, and company procedures is essential. The role requires adherence to quality, environmental, and safety policies, and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Strong electrical trouble-shooting skills
Good knowledge of panel-building and integration, single-phase and 3-phase motor controls and installation, press controls, resistance welders, and miscellaneous equipment
PLC trouble-shooting
Ability to run conduit neatly
Ability to perform electrical PMs
Willing to do mechanical work as needed
Ability to draw and read electrical schematics, and use them to troubleshoot electrical problems
Strong electrical aptitude and math skills
Ability to determine conduit fills, wire sizes, etc.
Valid Driver’s License
Minimum Language Skills: English

Nice To Haves

Interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematics a plus
Knowledge of PLEX ERP a plus

Responsibilities

Motivation, i.e., helping Soundwich succeed within Job Classification Responsibilities
Identify potential Safety & Health and Environmental hazards and take necessary actions to protect Employee Safety & Health and the Environment
Visually inspect and electrically test machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with Supervisor or other Maintenance Employees to diagnose problem or repair machine
Identify defective electrical components and repairs and/or wires in new parts
Understand electrical fundamentals and how to apply them
Able to read electrical schematics and use them to troubleshoot equipment
Basic PLC knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot using the PLC programs
Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code and standard electrical construction practices
Effective use of ERP system to order parts and record work
Authorized Powered Industrial Truck Operator
Authorized Crane Operator
Clair-based ONLY: Troubleshoot and perform preventive/reactive maintenance on Laser Cutter
Understand and follow all Company Procedures pertaining to assigned tasks, and the potential consequences of departure from these Procedures
Knowledge of the Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, all Company Policies, and the importance of conformance to Soundwich and Customer requirements
Knowledge of the effects that nonconforming products have on our Customers
Knowledge of the Environmental Policy, Environmental Objectives, all Safety Polices, and the importance of conformance to Soundwich and Regulatory requirements
